Hacienda La Esmeralda is world-renowned for bringing the Gesha variety to the forefront of the coffee industry. It won the 2004 Best of Panama (BoP) competition with the first Geisha to be entered into the BoP, setting a record that year for the highest price ever paid for coffee at auction.
After many decades of producing coffee, the Petersons' Geisha continues to set the bar for the classic Geisha profile: florals, stone fruits and complex sweetness. This lot comes from the Buena Vista farm in the El Velo area of Boquete. The Buena Vista has a shorter fermentation length of 5 days and displays the delicate florals and extraordinary complexity for which the Gesha varietal is celebrated. Expect notes of jasmine, nectarine, and white fruit.
