Longboard Coffee, Panama produces coffee from two main farms in Boquete; Windy Ridge and Misty Mountain. The Windy Ridge plantation, located at 1600 masl, is in the center of the prized Alto Jaramillo region.
Their quality has garnered international acclaim including regularly being used by World Brewers Cup competitors. They have also placed several times in the Best of Panama (BoP), with their Misty Mountain Geisha taking 4th place in the 2023 BoP Geisha Washed category.
This lot is a Typica variety processed as an anaerobic natural. Interestingly, fermentation times are concluded by taste. Justin tastes the “mosto” (juice released from the cherry during fermentation) to determine the right level of acidity produced. This processing method imparts distinctive notes of purple fruits to the coffee, culminating in a long and sweet finish that lingers on the palate.
